About our School

OUR MISSION, PHILOSOPHY & TEAM

Heights Little Learners exists to nurture every child in a loving environment where they grow, learn, and thrive.

Our story

Heights Little Learners began in 1972 as Asbury’s Mothers Day Out program, founded by church member Cheryl Mauderly. A few years later, Kay Martinez stepped in to lead and helped shape it into the nurturing, dynamic early childhood center it is today. Originally designed to support mothers with loving care for their children, the program has grown to welcome families of all kinds—while staying grounded in its mission of compassion and community.

Today, Heights Little Learners includes a state-funded Pre-K and continues to build on a legacy of consistent care and impactful teaching. We’re proud to serve multiple generations—children whose parents once learned and played here themselves. That kind of legacy is only possible in a place built on love, trust, and deep commitment to early childhood education.
